Erwin Montessori students and staff celebrated “Kindness Matters Week.” Staff and students have been focusing on kindness each day with various activities.
As a State School of Character and a National School of Character, Erwin feels it’s important to focus on teaching children to show kindness. Each child was given a list of examples of kind acts they could perform. Children were challenged to perform between 10-25 different acts (depending on the teacher and grade level).
Author Krystle Bradley shared her book, Brave Bradley, with all children. The Dudley High School Cheerleaders and Football Team led an assembly of cheers and encouraging words of why kindness matters.
Erwin Montessori held a Kindness Parade down Bessemer Ave. Students and staff will first meet on the playground to reflect on how this week of kindness has impacted them, followed by words of wisdom by former Mayor Pro Tem Yvonne Johnson. Ms. Johnson then lead the parade down Bessemer Avenue!
