Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools held the first ever “Bully and Drug Prevention Month.” They created a website, themes for every week, contests for every week, and suggested materials for schools to use.
They also teamed up with WFMY NEWS2, to create a community-wide campaign called 2 Stop Bullying. With their Psychological Services and Safe & Drug-Free Schools Team, they created a curriculum that WFMY, in turn, used to create a 25-minute assembly that was taken to the elementary schools that won the weekly contests. In turn, WFMY produced stories on the schools, their efforts etc. but also helped them in the promotion of resources, community partners and other things available to parents who have questions, need help, etc.
